Visit Historic Jefferson Barracks Park

Jefferson Barracks Park is a great meeting place for lovers of history, nature and recreation. The 425 acre park has over three miles of paved walking trails, a cross-country course, a disc golf course, softball and Corkball fields, four shelters, wedding sites, the Pavilion at Lemay Recreation Center, a Visitors Center, an outdoor amphitheater and a number of historic buildings that are used as museums and for special events.

To reserve space in one of the outdoor shelters or other amenities, contact St. Louis County Parks online or call 314-615-4386.

Jefferson Barracks Park is owned by St. Louis County and managed by the County Parks and Recreation department.

Park History

The land used for the park was once part of Jefferson Barracks, a U.S. Army post from 1826 to 1946 when it was deactivated by the Federal Government. In 1950 they transferred a tract of land to St. Louis County to operate as a historical park.
